Heart Melting Du'a for THE ONE Night of Ramadhan : with English Translation

Bismillahirahmanirahim.....

As all of us are aware, mahu tidak mahu, we are all getting closer and closer to the end of Ramadhan ...I know we can still continue with our prayers even after Ramadham, tetapi masih lagi diri ini sayang untuk melepaskan bulan yang mulia ini untuk repent segala salah silap dosa lalu ..masih lagi hati ini ingin berpaut pada bulan ini untuk memperbaiki diri.....Nevertheless of all that, alhamdulillah, many of us are looking forward too for that 1 special night (the last 10 days of Ramadhan) , only Allah s.w.t knows...

And alhamdulillah, many shared the do'a that we are all encouraged to read when the night comes...

Allahumma innaka ‘affuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni

Translation: "O Allah You are One who forgives and You love forgiveness: so forgive me. ”
(Sunan At-Tirmidhi)

A very powerful doa, is it not... :')  Beautiful.

Apart of the du'a above, I found a longer version which honestly, I just knew about...It is so beautiful that I just got to share it here..The English translation draws the eagerness in me..such a powerful,heart-melting do'a..

You may listen and read on the translation here..Its a very long one. You can call me daft and too sensitive, tetapi terasa sebak bila mendengar alunan of the supplication sambil mengenang nikmat yang diberi olehNya pada diri yang begitu hina kerdil ini..yang selalu lalai dan naive.. yang selalu takut diri ini akan terpesong dari landasan (minta dijauhkan kita semua dari terjebak ke dalam ajaran syiah..amin)...Sememangnya Allah s.w.t sayang akan kita bukan? Kepada kita semua dilimpahkan rezekiNya...

Extra-note :  A 30 minutes clip available from Youtube too.  :)

May Allah s.w.t make ease of each of our good intentions..for the sake of Allah s.w.t semata-mata....

Amiin...

Ingatlah wahai teman, it is our nawaitu ( intention) that counts, not so much on the result of it...

Wallahualam....

Those who so-called fights for Islam...

Bismillahirahmanirahim....

"Alvin dan Vivian didakwa persenda Islam" - Yahoo news

"Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali has rejected the apology from Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee, saying that the pair should not be let off the hook." - Malaysia Kini

"Kami menyeru orang ramai agar menghormati bulan Ramadan dengan mengelakkan dari mencetus kontroversi melalui kiriman di laman sosial yang bakal mencetuskan sensitiviti kaum," katanya sewaktu ditemui pemberita di pejabatnya, hari ini. -The Malaysian Insider

First thing that comes to my mind setelah membaca these statement was .."Siapa kita untuk menolak kemaafan orang lain sebegitu sekali?", "What do we get by rejecting it?", "Do you feel so empowered?", "Are we the ones to spare the punishment onto them?" ...the part which Im stunned the most,"....the pair should not be let off the hook "...

Rasanya kita semua sedia tahu the numerous muslims here in Malaysia yang sarat dengan kesalahan berzina , membunuh bayi, rasuah, berjudi, meminum arak, menindas wanita etc, tetapi tidak pula dikatakan "should not be let off the hook" seperti ini? Do you know that there are MANY thick-faced muslims in Malaysia who drinks alcohol, who eats pork, who womanizes and they do it an overt manner?

Just because we are refrained to indulge the halal during this particular month, we are easily aroused by this trivial matter. Tidakkah kita terfikir ini adalah ujian Allah to test our sabar? Just because they offer improper greetings, kesabaran kita tergugat?

See people, he (pbuh) patiently prayed for the best and let All Mighty Allah swt to do His part.Bukankah tindakan membaling najis itu, a disgusting and a woeful ignorance by the kafirs?

Those muslims who disobeys Allah's rules and instructions..

Yang tidak solat? why are these cases not brought up to the media and court? Why is it that you are holding to a case which is not highly emphasized in the Quran?

They are many places in the Quran that explains segala balasan adalah hak Allah swt...He is the Holder of Heavens and the Earth, And whatever is in them...Jadi mengapa kita manusia yang lemah dan hina ini berasa sungguh perlu untuk memperbesarkan kes Alvin dan Vivian hingga ke akar umbi? Tergugat sangat kah puasa orang muslim membaca ucapan mereka?

Im not saying I agree with Alvin's action, nor Im encouraging the act. Im mad too, no doubt. Their bluntness astounded me. Personally, I think balasannya cukup sekadar memberi kesedaran pada mereka berdua, seperti kita memperbetulkan anak-anak kecil kita. Fikirlah wahai saudara saudari Islamku, yes, they may have insulted our religion, but do we have to replicate the acts back. We may not insult them like how they did to us, but with that so much of negative phrases and words and hatred? That makes us no wiser than them both bukan?

Dimanakah kesabaran kita? Peribadi kita? The responds from many sangat contradicting dengan the teachings of Islam..Tidak pernah I dengar our Nabi Muhammad SAW berkata-kata kesat. Perasaan marah and sedih yes, but never did he utter foul words.

Do you remember the story of Hamzah bin Abdul-Muththalib,the beloved uncle of Nabi Muhammad SAW? Ketika Rasulullah saw melihat keadaan tubuh bapa saudaranya who was gruesomely murdered (*dadanya dibelah dan hatinya dikeluarkan dan terdapat kesan gigitan manusia), baginda s.a.w sangat marah dan sedih sekali. Disebabkan kejadian itu, Allah swt menurunkan firmannya in Surah An Nahl , verse 126.

"Dan jika kamu memberikan balasan, maka balaslah dengan balasan yang sama dengan siksaan yang ditimpakan kepadamu. Akan tetapi jika kamu bersabar, sesungguhnya itulah yang lebih baik bagi orang-orang yang sabar. - An Nahl : Verse 126

A simple verse yet eminently powerful is it not? Fahamilah, sabar is the best.. Repent for our sins of yerterday, bersyukur lah pada Allah swt kerana kita tahu bagaimana perasaan marah itu. Thank Allah swt kerana kita seharusnya boleh berfikir waras atas tindakan kita..Thank Allah kerana Dia beri kita kesedaran... So, lets use these wisely, insya'allah our future is with assurance..

Undang-undang Allah swt tetap undang-undang Allah...Jangan lah kita mempraktikkan sebahagiannya sahaja..Solat , puasa alhamdulillah...tetapi how about the rest?..A great quote from Ustaz Don's show last night.."Allah yang sama mewajibkan kita berpuasa, Allah yang sama juga mewajibkan kita solat " ....

Think deep dear people...Allah swt yang sama juga menyuruh kita banyak bersabar...Niat di hati bukan untuk menjatuhkan sesama muslim, tetapi sekadar pesanan dan pembuka mata kepada seluruhnya..Sememangnya kita ini adalah makhluk yang lemah telah disebut di dalam al-quran, but that does not mean we are not able to strive to be the best bukan? Cumanya, nafsu kita ini lebih terdorong pada yang zahir di mata such as food, money, pangkat....how about for the unseen/ghaib (pahala and syurga),are we struggling and fighting enough for it?   :'(

Wallahualam....

Sabah, Malaysia - June 2013

Bismillahirahmanirahim....

Sabah is one of my favourite places that Ive ever been to..the lay back city with its beautiful Mount Kinabalu background memang sangat sesuai to those who has been a 'workoholic scientist' , work work work and more work... *kesian scientist..sorry

The bottom line is, not only it is considered a budget tourism center, ia adalah sangat dekat!!! Furthermore, you got to indulge its mouth watering seafood galore and experience the wide blue sea..

Anyway, our short weekend trip to Sabah this time was a very brief one, mainly untuk makan seafood. But,if we have had the extra time, we would have hiked the Mount Kinabalu again agaknya.. ;)

Day 1 - 29th June 2013 :  Arrival & seafood dinner
Day 2 - 30th June 2013 : Departure & picnic at Sapi Island

My favourite picture from the trip :)

Summary and some learning points :

#1. We stayed a night at Hyatt Kinabalu. Thats the best place that could compliment well with our missions there ;)
(1) Paling dekat dengan tempat seafood bakar : about 5 mins walk sahaja
(2) Nearer to the port : *We went to Pulau Sapi
(3) Hmmm..one of the most reliable/recognized hotel daripada hotel-hotel yang nama pelik-pelik di sana..

#2. Flying with Malindo Air was not too bad. Nasib baik tidak delay as usual..The plane itself was nice with its modern look interior designs ..but the on board services memang out of my expectations..Its a budget airline after all bukan...You got what you paid for lah juga..One thing for sure, professionalism shown by the staff/flight attendants was not up to the international standards .Cara mereka mengambil order makanan juga agak tidak professional.( Maybe Im too used to MAS's hospitality standard) . Communication skills totally zero...batas pergaulan lagi lah...below zero..enough said, lain customers, lain reviews bukan...just take it positively...be it to improve the company's reputation or to improve harga diri sendiri..

#3. For non-residents of Sabah, do keep the slip that will be given by the immigration officer as you passed through the arrival gates. You would need to present it during your flight out from Sabah.

#4. I hardly see the common mini/ supermarkets like those here in Selangor such as Speedmart 99, Giants, Tesco during my stay. But they do have couple of shopping malls there. ATM machines, Guardians are within the reach..nasib baik . Not much of muslims stalls sepanjang kami di sana. So,do look out for Halal logos too when you are in search for makan-makan in Sabah  ;)

#5. Each time Im in Sabah, I will not miss the 'PhilippinesMarket'. There are several markets there, those that sells the keropok-keropok ikan and udang kering, ikan bilis, ikan masin semua....and another one is those that sells the artcrafts..Sila bawa cash yang mencukupi ya..even though bagi orang yang kurang memasak seperti saya pun, I ter-beli ikan bilis sampai RM100...inikan pula saudara saudari?

#6. Weather was beautiful. Sceneric was wonderful.. Despite on the recent haze...agak lega, because we were planning to bring Dahlia to the beach. Entrance to Pulau Sapi cost us Malaysians few ringgits sahaja..tak banyak pun..just some funds collection to keep the island clean.

#7. Boat rides for the island hopping boleh dikatakan quite frequent, and ada beberapa juga companies that offers the service.Cumanya, its better that you get your tickets (over the counters) before they are all sold out (by 10am max)

#8. Seafood bakar is a must!!!!!Dont ever miss this!!! The ikan bakar eateries yang kami pergi dibuka after 5PM...such a perfect time to have your dinner... landmark : Nearby Hyatt Kinabalu Hotel + roundabout with a big ikan todak statue

#9. If you are looking for a short cheap trip and looking forward for that family bonding space and time, I would recommend Sabah as one of your destination list. Its just few hours flights away and the place is magnificent!

#10. Again..last but not least..daripada I keep on replying your messages about our trip cost (thank you sebenarnya kerana sudi membaca), here it is, as usual..sharing our cost allocated lebih kurang for this weekend getaway:...

Sabah - Day 2

Selepas pekena seafood last night, tak henti-henti I berfikir betapa bertuahnya kita kerana mendapat limpah rezeki nikmat Allah...syukur alhamdulillah...sangat tidak terhingga bilangan nikmat yang Allah swt beri pada kita bukan? pelbagai jenis sea creatures and makanan dibekalkan untuk kita...sayu rasanya bila dikenangkan kezaliman yang kita buat pada diri kita sendiri sedangkan Allah swt tidak pernah henti memberi peluang pada kita...semuanya adalah supaya kita sedar diri..Apa lagi bukti nikmat Allah swt yang hendak kita deny untuk kita sujud padaNya sepenuh hati? ...

A small token tanda appreciation...

MasyaAllah...cantik sungguh perairan di Sabah ni...tapi frankly speaking, Maldives lebih mempersonakan..the beauty can drift you away....besar sungguh kuasaNya...btw, Dahlia almost tertido lentok during the 15mins ride to pulau sapi...budak itu kan..too much of Mr Bean and his rollercoaster ride!!!! Terumbang-ambing laju pun boleh tidur!!!

We were there!!!Grabbed a spot under a shady tree..stacked our picnic lunch by the log..made towers of sand-castles, sand-mermaids, sand-dolphins....had chicken wings bakar..had KFC nuggets bagai... not knowing disebalik pohon rendang itu, mereka pun ada sekali!!!

Picture googled

Allah Maha Mengetahui bukan?..He knows I akan terjerit-jerit ketakutan kalau those lizards join our picnic spot...

We enjoyed the morning-noon sea breeze....alhamdulillah...

His little girl

By noon we journeyed back to the main land...alhamdulillah...walaupun dengan hujan (about 10 mins) and lizards yang berkeliaran...we had fun....Our so-called picnic was a prosperous one!!!

Oh ya...terlupa pula to note this down... Dahlia encountered with some rabbits earlier that morning after breakfast... Pretty cool juga flea market dia ada jual ini kan?....Price ranges between RM30-RM150 if Im not mistaken..

Papa : Lets bela rabbit?
Mami : NOOOOHHH...

So this is a wrap I guess....I do wish to come here again!!!! How about next month? Shall we?

Sabah - Day 1

So our narrowbody flight touched down early that Saturday morning. Left our luggage at the concierge and had our buffet lunch at a food court area in a mall..lupa pula nama mall itu...But the name of the restaurant was 'Faezah Restaurant"..quite decent and generous dengan variety of lauk-pauk..from ikan goreng to ayam goreng, to arrays of vegetables..kerabu seaweed/rumpai laut pun ada!!..Kenyang..Alhamdulillah...

Later in the afternoon we went out pula for hasil lautan hunting...

Dahlia went on buat macam stool pulak at those packets..duduk minum air!!!!

Cartoned ourselves few kilos of enchovies of pelbagai jenis, a kilo of dried shrimps (udang kering), few packets of ikan keropok. Total hasil belian RM120...rather cheap comparing with the freshness and quality..

Ikan keropok by the way was my first purchase dalam my whole ( thats what they called it). Looks like this selepas digoreng..sedap jugak..crunchy..my husband suka sangat ratah ni..

Yes...I memang dah terapkan sifat kesederhanaan dalam my daughter...beg sekolah pun pakai yang murah-murah je... ;p

Checked our selves in, washed up and selesai solat, tidur semuanya..The room was spacious...macam suka the open concept of the toilet, makes the room even more roomy..tapi a bit risky siapa yang ada anak kecil yang suka merepeh-repeh tapi for those without, maybe some ideas for your home designs perhaps?

Just before the sun set.....reminds me of Istanbul

A very cosy place..pretty clean for a place like this..the famous talked about ... "Haji Manja" ... :)

Geram!!!!! Rasa macam nak beli bawa balik KL... I already informed Helmi that I would need another refrigerator for our new shack next year...to stack these fishies...

GERAM!!!!

Lobsters Alive!!!!Geram lagi!!! RM15 per gram...seafood lover mana yang tak jadi gila?!!!!

Our ikan merah masak asam.. Looks can be deceiving kan..macam fish curry, but it tasted like masak senggang ikan...just that the gravy pekat lagi...

The usuals...deep fried calamari

and our buttered lobster with some dash of those aromatic curry leaves...

Buah hati ...love them both so much...
